Walk, Bike, and Wheelchair Public Forum – Evening Session
January 26, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Do you struggle with getting around Bangor on foot or bike? Is your walker or wheelchair forced off the sidewalk and into the road? Can’t cross the street without feeling like a target for motorists?
Come to this public forum to voice your opinion, concerns, and ideas about cycling, walking, and using wheelchairs and other adaptive devices in Bangor. All residents, businesses, organizations, and visitors are welcome.
With two convenient times and places!
– Noon to 1pm, Bangor City Hall, Council Chambers, 3rd floor
– 6-7pm, Bangor Police Department, Classroom
This public forum will be hosted by Walk-n-Roll, a community safety advisory group for alternative transit. Walk-n-Roll wants to link current and future urban infrastructure to community needs, which can include physical activity, public safety, and quality connections between home, schools, work, and village centers.
The ultimate purpose of these forums is to 1) create a list of recommendations for advocacy-action organizations, state entities, the city, and elected officials, and 2) for Walk-n-Roll to form goals and tasks to address some of the most pressing issues.
If you wish to submit comment privately, or want to volunteer Walk-n-Roll’s future projects, just email us! We’d love to hear from you and build a list of volunteers. Please email walknrollbangor@gmail.com.
Thanks to the City for generously offering space for this event.
