Share The Road With Carol
September 13, 2020 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Share The Road With Carol is a commemorative bike ride planned for Sunday, September 13 that goes through Windsor and Whitefield, Maine. The ride honors the memory of Carol Eckert, M.D. Carol was tragically killed as a result of a bike crash that occurred in Windsor on October 10, 2016. Biking was Carol’s passion and we invite everyone who feels the same to join us in remembrance of a life well pedaled and to further the cause of bicycle safety in Maine.
2020 marks the 4th annual ride. There is a 12-mile route and a 27-mile route planned (there will be one a rest stop on the longer route). Due to the 100 person outside gathering limitation, we are capping enrollment at 75 riders. Advance registration is required; registration on the day of the event will not be available.
Given the constantly evolving situation with COVID-19, we will restrict the number of riders to comply with the most up to date state mandates. We will ensure social distancing and other protective measures at gathering points and will ask riders to wear masks while not riding. In the event that it becomes necessary to cancel the event, registration fees will be refunded in full.
Whether you knew Carol or not, this ride is a wonderful opportunity to explore the lovely rolling hills along the border of Kennebec and Lincoln Counties. Please join us after the ride at the Windsor Town Office for fellowship, remembrances, and light snacks.
Great news! We’ve lowered those registration fees! Adult registrations for this year’s ride are $20, down from $25, and any person under 15 years of age riding with a parent or guardian can now ride for $10.
