Northwoods Gravel Grind

Participants will Grind it out as they race over hills and around ponds as they follow mostly Gravel roads through the Northwoods of Maine in the 2nd Annual Maine Gravel Grind.

2015 Race Details
Races will begin around 10am (final time TBD) with check in 9am.  There are TWO routes this year!!!  
The ORIGINAL route is 34.25 miles and the NEW route is 75.05 miles.  Both routes start off on the road take a first trip onto gravel around Dodge Pond then back on the road until entering different gravel routes.  Both routes have their entrance onto the Seven island Land Managements gravel roads off route 16 and will follow scenic routes through some of Maines’ beautiful NORTHWOODS.
You asked for more miles so we have added an option that is more than double the distance!
It would not be Western Maine without being pretty hilly terrain so be prepared to test yourself.  Cyclist supportvehicles for accidents/breakdowns and multiple rest stops on the route with opportunities for cyclists to stop for water, a quick energy bar or simply a chance to give your legs a rest. Hop back on your bike, cross the finish line, and join us at Moose Alley.  Grab a bite to eat at Moose Alley and maybe take a stroll down Main Street when you are done to experience the great businesses that Rangeley has to offer.
Note: Event will take place rain or shine; all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Cyclists will ride at their own risk and must wear a helmet. Route is challenging with several hills and is not recommended for beginners.  Registration requires waiver.
