Maine Public Health Association Annual Conference
October 17, 2017
Please join us for the Maine Public Health Association’s 2017 Annual Conference, “Health Equity: Can We Get There From Here?”. MPHA’s annual conference is the largest statewide meeting dedicated to public health in Maine. We attract 300+ public health professionals from across the state, and feature the latest science, policy, and programming related to public health in Maine.
We are so excited to announce Mark Fenton will be our 2017 keynote speaker! Mark is a national public health, planning, and transportation consultant, an adjunct associate professor at Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and former host of the “America’s Walking” series on PBS television.
In addition, we’ll be featuring two exciting panels:
- Maine Funders Panel – Hear from Maine funders about their priorities, challenges, and opportunities!
- Substance Use Policymaking Panel – Interactive discussion with Maine legislators about policymaking related to substance use.
Please also consider sharing your efforts in programming, policymaking, research, business, media, healthcare, and any other industries that touch health and reduce disparity in Maine. Examples of topics related to health equity may include active community design, food access, educational achievement, health insurance, medical care, geography, minority health, and many, many others!
Abstracts are 300 words, and due by 5:00pm on Friday, July 7. We will confirm conference presenters by August 1. To learn more and to submit an abstract, please visit our Abstract Submission Site. Note: Please review the full application before submitting.
