Become a League Cycling Instructor!
June 7, 2019 - June 9, 2019
$3504 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD TRAIN TO BE AN LCI
1) Join BCM’s team of instructors and get paid to teach others how to safely travel by bicycle.
2) Strengthen your own traffic riding skills to ride more confidently in all situations.
3) Make a difference in the lives of people who may be unaware of the value of bicycling – help others gain confidence to enjoy bicycling for work, exercise, and pleasure.
4) Spend meaningful time in your saddle with like minded cyclists, advocates, enthusiasts, and instructors from the region.
League Cycling Instructors (LCIs) are certified to teach the Smart Cycling classes to children as well as adults. Their goal is to help people feel more secure about getting on a bike, to create a mindset that bikes are treated as a vehicle, and to ensure that people on bikes know how to ride safely and legally. LCIs are members of the League and have completed an intense 3-day seminar training. Certified instructors are active within the bicycling community, are covered by the League of American Bicyclist’s liability insurance, and are qualified to contract with the Bicycle Coalition of Maine for bike/ped safety instructor work at a rate of $30/hour.
The Bicycle Coalition of Maine is offering the LCI seminar on June 7-9 in Portland.
