Community TFWN-B+ Ride

August 12 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm

The Portland Gear Hub is Hosting: a community bike ride specifically for TFWN-B+ folks (Trans, femme, women, non-binary and gender queer).

What: The inaugural (!) proactively gender inclusive, no-drop exploration bike ride for trans, femme, women, non-binary and gender queer folks. The focus of this ride is building safe communities and spaces for cycling and to have fun.

We will be on paved surfaces and any type of bike you’re comfortable on will work for the ride. All levels of experience welcome! No-one will get left behind on this ride! We will be riding through some areas where the group will get spread out, but we will regroup and make sure all are present and feeling alright.

Approx 10-mile ride.

Contact: Bel (they/them)bkugel@ketchaoutdoors.org

*Also, if you would like to help organize, collaborate, lead or contribute to the planning of these rides in the future, please reach out!

Notes:

Historically and currently, many cycling spaces are not safe, inclusive, or accessible for TFWN-B as well as BIPOC folks. Everyone deserves access to this, and it is our primary goal with establishing this programming.

We recognize that this ride is exclusive, meaning that it is specifically a program for people of specific affinities/identities and does exclude others for the purpose of equity and safety of those communities. This ride is intended as a space only for people who identify as trans, femmes, women, non-binary, or gender queer.

This ride is the first of its kind being sponsored by the Portland Gear Hub, and we enthusiastically welcome questions, ideas and input about our language and accessibility for this program! We hope to also develop & sponsor a fully gender inclusive ride for the larger LBGTQIA+ community, and allies in the future.
