Casco Bay Bicycle Club – Beginner Ride Series
June 7, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
CBBC’s Steve Buxton will be offering a beginner’s ride the first Wednesday of June, July, August, and September.
What is a beginner ride? Let’s say you love riding your bike, and you’d like to meet other people who share this passion. On the other hand, you’re not sure you want to put on lycra shorts, jam your feet into locking pedals, and ride in the type of cycling peloton that gives drivers fits. In keeping with our mission, Casco Bay Bicycle Club would like to introduce you to group cycling of another sort. You don’t have to be a speed demon, you don’t need a bicycle with drop handlebars, you don’t even need lycra shorts (although we do recommend them).
Steve estimates that distances with be in the 8 to 10 mile range, but could be higher or lower, depending on the composition of the group. Steve will cover topics like safety, signals, road etiquette, and more. He may even show you his “cat ears” helmet attachments!
This ride does not replace our regular Wednesday ride, it merely provides another option on nights when it is held. Participants are encouraged to join the rest of gang post-ride for stories, food, and beverages at Romeo’s!
