Yellow Jersey Club

In 2005, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine's Board of Directors launched the Yellow Jersey Club as our major donor program to strengthen support of the BCM's safety, education, and access mission and programs. Yellow Jersey Club members contribute at least $1,000 each year -- a wonderful and very generous show of support for a worthy organization that is making Maine a better place to bicycle.

Yellow Jersey Club members are given a special edition BCM Yellow Jersey featuring Maine's state motto "Dirigo" or "I Lead." Yellow Jersey Club Members are recognized here, in the Maine Cyclist, our Annual Report, and are invited to help lead out the start of the Maine Lobster Ride & Roll (the BCM's premier fundraising bike ride in Rockland each July).

We invite you to consider joining this generous group of wicked strong supporters of the BCM. We would be happy to meet with you in person to discuss the fine work of the BCM, including our recent accomplishments and plans for the future. If you are not able to write a check for $1,000 you are not alone -- feel free to contact us to discuss creative options. Indeed not all of these generous supporters were able to write such a check but they were able to raise the funds. For instance, Sue Ellen celebrating her 60th birthday asked friends and relatives to give a contribution in honor of her landmark health and age with gifts in increments of $60. Trina Chiasson, who is in college certainly didn't have this kind of money, but she decided to ride her bike cross country in support of the BCM and raised $1,600 in donations in honor of her big ride.
