Augusta, Maine - The Bicycle Coalition of Maine will hold a Super Raffle to raise money for the coalition's bicycle safety and education programs. The first prize winner will receive a custom Aegis road bike valued at $4,500. The Maine-made, carbon fiber bike comes equipped with a 10-speed Shimano Ultegra/105 kit and a choice of Victory, Aro Svelt, or Trident frame. The raffle’s second prize is a bicycle tour in Tuscany, Italy, sponsored by VBT Bicycling Vacations and valued at $1,795 to $2,895. The winner may select from among three Tuscany tours, with multiple timeslots for each during 2009. Tickets are $50 each, and only 300 tickets will be sold. They are available by emailing info@BikeMaine.org or calling (207) 623-4511. Tickets also will be sold at Bicycle Coalition of Maine events such as the Great Maine Bike Swap-Portland on April 27, the Great Maine Bike Swap-Orono on May 4, the Women's Ride for Heart Health on June 1 in Freeport, the Maine Bike Rally on July 11-13 in Fryeburg and the Maine Lobster Ride & Roll on July 26 in Rockland. The drawing will take place later this year. The Aegis Super Raffle is made possible by generous donations from Aegis Bicycles, VBT Bicycling Vacations, Downeast Bicycle Specialists and the Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop.
