Lobster Ride

Thanks to popular demand—and a strong collaborative effort between the Penobscot Bay YMCA, the Town of Camden Parks and Recreation, Sidecountry Sports, Specialized Bikes, and the Bicycle Coalition of Maine—the Lobster Ride is back!

Beginning and ending at the Camden Snow Bowl (also home to the Ragged Mountain Recreation Area), the ride will take place on Sunday, July 21. Keeping with tradition, the Lobster Ride will offer its four traditional route options—15, 38, 62, and 100 miles—through scenic countryside and along coastal vistas.

Rest stops and SAG wagons are provided along the way, and at the finish line, attendees can enjoy live music and a for-purchase après-ride lunch from a variety of local food trucks.

All proceeds go to supporting the Pen Bay YMCA’s health and wellness programs, outdoor recreation opportunities for kids and families through Camden Parks and Recreation, and bike safety advocacy and education through the BCM.

For those wishing to make the 2019 Lobster Ride a two-day event, Saturday, July 20, offers a full day of family friendly activities thanks in part to the folks from Sidecountry Sports and Specialized Bicycles.

These events include the BCM bicycle safety rodeo for kids, guided and independent mountain bike trail-ride options, bike demos (road, mountain, and e-bike), as well as a VIP ride with the Specialized Bicycle Brand Representatives.
