Before the Bike Swap

Prep Prep Racks, Marking Out Areas, etc.

Poster Distribution (and other marketing materials)

DAY OF Great Maine Bike Swap

Set Up Assemble racks, hang banners, place signs, set up tables, & chairs. Unload bikes, artwork, assist shops and vendors. Decorate with balloons, crepe paper, etc. 7:00-10:00AM

Sign Making 7:00 AM-10:00 AM

Sign In: Volunteers, Vendors, Shops Greet, Name tag, Name, address 7:00AM-2:00PM

Greeters Greet, assist with bikes, direct to registration table, restrooms, answer questions. 8:00-12:00 and 11:00-3:00

Bikes Registration & Tagging Greet, Check paperwork, Ask about donating to BCM / The Bike Shop/ PIRG donation? Sort bikes. 8:00-11:00 and 11:00-2:00

Runners After bike registration is completed and copy of form is attached to bike handlebars, Runner rolls bike inside to proper selling location (i.e. Road, Mountain, Hybrid, etc.) 8:00-11:00 and 11:00-2:00

Bike Fit 101 Presenters Welcome folks, tell about BCM and mission, basic bike fit advice, & other announcements in a fun and humorous fashion. 9:30-10:00

Admission Tables Greet, Take $, Stamp hands. 9:30-12:00 and 11:30-2:00

Valet Bike Parking Greet bike drivers in a loud, outrageous manner, park bikes, ask riders to fill out survey, & monitor bikes. 8:00-12:00 and 11:00-3:00

Test Rides Greet, Sign waiver, mini Safe Bike Driver, Ask for Driver's License if leaving campus. 10:00-12:00 and 11:30-3:00

Checkout Assistants Walk up and down line with calculator and clipboard. Help Buyers calculate costs or hold bikes while they do it. Helps speed up checkout process. 10:00-12:00 and 12:00-2:00

Checkout Greet Buyers, Match Slip to Bike, Double-check total with tax with calculator. Friendly, calm. Take $$, Thanks for supporting BCM. Sitting down job. 9:30-12:00 and 11:45-2:15

Payout Processing sales in back office. 10:00-12:00 and 12:00-3:00

Web Posting Near checkout, enters info into computer so sellers can access www.BikeMaine.org and see live feedback if their bike has sold. 10:00-12:15 and 12:00-2:30

Door Persons Check that people leaving have a receipt for the bike(s), etc., that they are leaving with. Thank them for coming. "Hope to see you next year." If not checked out, be sure to steer them to where they need to be in a friendly manner. 10:00-12:15 and 12:00-2:15

Bike Pricing Offer inspection and pricing advice. 8:00-11:00 and 11:00-2:00

Bike Fit Advisors Offer basic fit advice, price comparison, etc. 10:00-2:00

Workshop Host Greet, make announcements, introduce presenter(s), monitor time, and thank presenter at end. 10:00-2:00

Cleanup Prep Calmly and carefully pack up racks as they become empty. (Also people who are not busy on floor will help with this). 12:00-2:00

Cleanup Take down Bike Swap Racks, tables, banners, decorations, sweep, empty trash, etc. 2:00-4:00

Bike Commuters Delivery Optional. Deliver bikes locally that are purchased by bike commuters. Need people who know the area and/or are GPS equipped and have pickup truck or multiple bike rack. 11:00-3:00
